Profile: Mrs. Heather Renz, Vern Patrick Elementary School, Redmond, Oregon

Heather Renz is a grade four teacher at Vern Patrick Elementary School. She is the recipient of our Vital Educator Award for her outstanding efforts in integrating technology into her daily curriculum.

A visit to Mrs. Renz's Fourth Grade Class Web Site gives clear evidence of her commitment to ensuring her children are exposed to and make use of the many tools of information technology. You will find many quality Web pages with resources for parents, teachers and students. Check out the classroom Photo Gallery. It is full of photos of her students and the learning activities they participate in. We were also very impressed with the Student Web Pages that are full of student work and with the many quality Classroom Projects they have completed. The grade four Web Site also includes Homework Assignments, Birthdays, a Student of the Week, Friends From Around the Globe, and much, much more! Indeed, this is one of the best, if not the best classroom Web site we have visited!

We are thus pleased to recognize the accomplishments of Mrs. Renz and present her with our Vital Educator Award. Keep up the great work, Heather. Your efforts help to ensure the students of Vern Patrick Elementary have the skills to meet the challenges technology presents for the future!

Do you want to celebrate the accomplishments of a colleague? If so, nominate them for a Vital Award. We will highlight their efforts in our weekly Vital Pick!
