August 2002 - Icebreaker Activity

Are you looking for an icebreaker activity for your first week of school? You may be interested in taking your students to a computer lab and having the search the Internet to find the answers to the following questions. Note that in this activity we do not provide the Internet address as we do in other Web Quests. This activity, therefore, will also give your students the opportunity to strengthen their research skill using search engines. There are a wide variety of search engines your students may use. Some of the more popular are Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

Challenge your students to come up with the answers to the following questions. Ask them to include the Internet address they found each answer at.
